You’re invited to join us on the beautiful property of Shaw Percussion (Sutton, ON) for an afternoon of Dundun Dance Equinox Celebration! Originating from the Baga Womyn in Guinea, West Africa, Dundun Dance activates our personal power, while amplifying our collective energy as a group.
Participants will learn steps from Kassa (harvest) and Makru (celebration) from Guinea where Elisha lived and studied Dundun dance. There will be invitations to infuse personal intentions into the dance and share in rhythmic prayers for the world, as we celebrate and acknowledge the turning of seasons.
Dundun dance can support us to loosen old patterns and stagnant energy, while creating space for more clarity and vitality. All skill levels are welcome. You're invited to stay for a potluck afterwards.
Investment: $90 + HST = 101.70

Seemingly more yin than yang,
I have been called Moon Woman
but an African drumming and dance class
nudges me not to be passive:
I have a body I can throw behind my drumming
not just my disembodied hands.
I can fight for me.
Loved the class again!! You are an excellent teacher bringing us into what we are about to do, teaching the movements clearly, giving enough repetition so we may:) remember!! I also very much appreciate the videos so we are able to keep practicing :) - B.H.
